Aba Shawel

Our beers

Three vessels
of the myth.

One flagship on the table, two more resting in the cellar. Every Shawel pour carries the same inheritance: highland patience, proud barley, and a name that outlived its century.

Flagship

Shawel Premium Lager

African Gold · since 1991. Crisp, bright, exact.

Brewed from highland-grown barley and a slow cold ferment, the gold-medal flagship pours pale gold with a tight white head. Crisp grain up front, green citrus through the middle, and a dry mineral snap at the finish.

Shawel Amber Reserve

The slow hour. Deep. Roasted. Generous.

A limited reserve brewed dark the way the hill brews its evenings: roasted barley, dark honey, and a long highland-coffee finish. Resting in the cellar now. The myth does not rush.

Formats

Bottle, can, or keg.

The flagship rides in 330 ml and 500 ml bottles, sleek black cans in six-packs, and kegs for the bars that never close their doors. Same gold, every vessel.

Brewing process

Slow is the fastest way.

01

Highland water

Soft water, treated to a strict mineral profile that keeps the finish dry and the palate clean.

02

Proud barley

Two-row barley malted slowly for a bright, honeyed core, the backbone of every Shawel pour.

03

A patient boil

Noble-type hops added in two restrained charges. Bitterness that seasons, never shouts.

04

The cold sleep

A long, cold lagering rest. Weeks, not days. The myth is not brewed in a hurry.

05

The open door

Filtered bright, bottled under counter-pressure, and sent out to every table that has a second chair.

A fresh Shawel poured straight from the tap into a branded cup

From the tap · no shortcuts

“Weeks in the cold, seconds in the glass: that ratio is the recipe.”
